The Great Black One. (Mnon-po in tibetan, Yeke gara in mongolian). He was introduced to Mongolia under Tibetan influence in the 16th/17th century and has since them been the protector god of Mongolia.
the wrathful manifestation of Avalokiteshvara - the bodhisattva of compassion.  to indicate that he overcomes obstacles, he stands upon Vihakala (king of obstacles) who has a human body , an elephant head with an open mouth and a skull cup in his hands.
